#FotoVorschlag: Gewürze // Spices

Zählen wir heute #Kräuter mit? Ist ja irgendwie schon eine Untergruppe, oder? Meine neue Kräuterecke im #Garten hat sich dieses Jahr jedenfalls prächtig weiterentwickelt. Ich habe Thymian, Bärlauch (im Bild schon durch für die Saison), Rosmarin, Oregano, Schnittlauch, Salbei, Lavendel und Basilikum. Minze steht extra. Dill und Petersilie wären noch gut, aber Letztere wollte nicht so recht. Jetzt müsste ich nur mal damit kochen! 😅

Do we count #herbs as spices? They are some sort of subgroup, aren't they? Anyway, the herbs in my garden were doing so well in their new spot this year. I've got thyme, wild garlic (past its season in this pic), rosemary, oregano, chives, sage, lavender, and basil. Mint is in a different spot. Dill and parsley are still missing (the latter gave up early on). I should probably start actually cooking with them at some point! 😅

#TrainTrackTuesday from #Cologne, looking from the railway station towards Cologne #Cathedral. We had some time there waiting for our connection, so we walked around the city centre for a bit and I had plenty of time to take pics of train tracks at the #railwayStation. 😆

Cimetière de #Laeken (Begraafplaats van #Laken) for #CemeterySunday

As I said the other day, the #cemetery was closed, but I was able to take a few photos through the fence. It's the oldest cemetery in #Brussels still in use and is often called the Père-Lachaise of Belgium.
The original #bronze of Rodin's The Thinker belongs to the tomb of art collector Jef Dillen, purchased in 1927 to serve as his own memorial.

Ich war ja hin und weg von der schönen #Jugendstilarchitektur in Paris und #Brüssel. Als dieses Gebäude 1917 im Brüsseler Stadtteil #Schaerbeek erbaut wurde, wurde es sehr wahrscheinlich noch mit Gas bzw. Petroleum beleuchtet. Und heute knipst man einfach das Licht an.

I absolutely adored the Art Nouveau #architecture of both Paris and #Brussels. When this building in the Brussels district of Schaerbeek was built in 1917, it was probably still illuminated by gas or paraffin lamps. And today, you just flick a light switch.

An Asian #ladyBeetle on a wall in Brussels for #InsectSaturday. The only #insect I can contribute today. We're currently waiting in Cologne for our connecting train (after we missed the first connection and the second was cancelled. Ah, it's good to be back in Germany 😂). So the holiday is coming to an end, but tonight, I've got access to my photo archive again. And my bed. 😭

I'm not prepared for Halloween this year, I thought we'd arrive too late to care, but then I was informed that our ETA was in the afternoon. Aaaaah! I panic shopped some sweets in a supermarket near Cologne station because today is a public holiday in our region and all shops are closed. Well, Deutsche Bahn is on my side and gives its all to make sure we arrive hours later. 😂 The first wave of small kids might be done by the time we're home.

Anyway, this is the spookiest #cat I can offer for #Caturday. Pretend it's a witch's familiar hissing and arching its back threateningly, rather than a Paris resident stretching lazily on the pavement.
