I've been stalking this tree for a couple of weeks hoping for just the right light/sky/leaves combo and it looks like today is the best it was going to get. It was getting progressively balder, too, so that helped seal the deal. The pair of crows that hang out here didn't mind my daily recon visits, either.

Also, just got home from watching 𝘞𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳 and it was delightful. ✨

Tot just plovia quan havíem arribat
gairebé a dalt del bosc i vam flairar
el vent humit i poc transparent
que no ens deixava veure la llunyania.
Aleshores vàrem sentir unes veus
com d'un eco que ens venia de lluny
i que acoloria tot l'espai descarnat.
Aquelles veus ens indicaven el camí,
entre arbres, que havíem de seguir
per arribar a la teva cabana solitària.
Evoquem aquelles veus i ara,
encara, les seguim escoltant.

gaireben sus lo bòsc e entendèm
lo vent umid e pauc transparent
que nos daissava pas veire la distància.
Alara entendèm unas voses
coma d'un resson que veniá de luènh
e que colorava tot l'espaci descarnat.
Aquelas voses nos indicavan lo camin,
entre los arbres, que deviam seguir
per arribar a ta cabana solitària.
Evoquèm aquelas voses e ara,
encara, las escotam encara.

A view from our hike up Pen yr Ole Wen today for #MountainMonday. Sadly, we didn't hit the summit. We did about 80% of the hike, but with a late start, the shorter days, bitterly biting wind, and what looked like 'some weather' rolling in, we played it safe and headed back down. We shall tackle it again one day... when it's warmer.

Some days I can't decide what to post for my 365 project. It could be that I've taken a few that I really like or (more often, sadly) that I'm underwhelmed with them and, on the worst days, think they all absolutely suck. 😕 On days like these, I'll send Aled a few options and let him pick. Today I gave Aled a chocie and he picked this one... And then I promptly rejected it for being boring. 😆

He always takes it in stride but I felt bad about it (🤏) so I thought that maybe I'll occasionally post one that he likes, even if it's not what I was hoping for.

"Coed Nursery"
Took a quick trip over to a small woodland in town to snap today's offering. Autumn is my favourite season and the weather is absolutely delightful at the moment.

Also got to rewatch two classics in the cinema again tonight: Pan's Labyrinth and Donnie Darko. Both so beautiful and original in completely different ways.
